We’re back with a bang for 2018 as London Fashion Week Men’s gave us an early opportunity to show off our latest wares. Read on to find out about the pieces that you’ll be able to get your hands on later this year.
For this coming autumn/winter, we’re looking north for inspiration. Specifically, the industrious northern towns of Britain during the 1970s are our muse, recalling a time when we truly lived for the weekend.
The dance floor was our solace, and Northern Soul was the beat that propelled us. The Northern Soul kids would dance until the sun came up, with everything from the shapes they pulled to the parquet floor they pounded inspiring our autumnal colour palette. The iconography of these ‘night owls’ coming through in the use of retro badges and patches, creating a contemporary collection with a classic twist. Keep your eyes peeled for more AW18 announcements soon.
Also coming this AW18, we can announce an exclusive collaboration with acclaimed British designer, Henry Holland.
Holland is renowned for his daring, quirky designs with a nod to British subcultures, and was therefore the perfect person to team up with. Through his House of Holland label, the designer - recently nominated by the British Fashion Council for Best Emerging Menswear designer - has worked closely with the Ben Sherman team to create a fashion forward, unisex capsule collection that perfectly blends our two worlds.
Holland has infused his signature creative flair into a selection of classic Ben Sherman silhouettes to create a dynamic range that proudly represents the best of London’s street-style, combining a modern sartorialist twist with a rebellious spirit. Debuted during our catwalk show at London’s Somerset House, the collection features everything from knitted polos to button down shirts, knitwear to trousers, tracksuits to coats, and will be available AW18.
Speaking of the collaboration, Ben Sherman creative director Mark Williams said: “Teaming up with Henry Holland has added another layer of excitement to our AW18 collection, it’s a fantastic offering and we are thrilled to be partnering with him. It’s an elevated and premium collection that has a vibrant, colourful youthful approach, we believe it will appeal to a fashion conscious consumer with an appetite for premium designer labels.”
Holland himself is equally excited about the collection, stating: ??I remember Ben Sherman being one of the brands I was first excited about wearing. It??s such an iconic British Brand with such a rich history in music and street culture. I??m really excited to be working with Mark and the team on this range and the collection we have created together feels like the perfect reflection of our shared values and strength of spirit.”
Expect the unisex collection debuted at London Fashion Week 2018 to be available from the Ben Sherman site this September.
