The Last Word

New Collection: Military Mod

For this Sunday’s Last Word, we take a look at the new season's collection, Military Mod.

The Military Mod drop is inspired by the way the original Mod’s in the 60’s appropriated surplus military garments and styled them back over their sharp tailored look. This was driven by function to keep their clothes impeccable while travelling round on their scooters, but soon became an iconic pairing associated with the Mod movement.

We take this mixing of smart and casual utility styles and elevate them into modern winter fabrics to retain a smart, premium aesthetic.

The woven pique blazer with tonal contrast back collar dresses up or down an outfit; pair it with a knitted cotton roll neck for a sharp Mod look.

The colour block knitted polo is inspired by the original Mod scooter stripes; it comes in rich winter tones of navy & wine for a sophisticated take on a classic casual style.

Taking inspiration from the tailoring patterns of the original Mods we reinvent the dogtooth by overprinting a twisted casual shirt fabric for a blend of smart and casual influences.

For AW17 our heritage mac, with all of the classic styling and check trim lining, is released in a military olive tone. Layer back with the classic Mod roll neck knitwear and brushed handle tapered trousers for a warm, winter version of a classic look.
